October 7

Hi KA/1A families,

I am so happy to finally be back in class with your children. It was exciting to see our school get the green circle beside it yesterday. This has been a very disrupted start to the school year and I sincerely hope the interruptions are now behind us.

Today we continued with our Fundations lessons, we started our first daily Math Meeting and recorded AB patterns (pictured below). We read Jillian Jiggs by Phoebe Gilman and then drew pictures of our favorite part. We talked about Thanksgiving and wrote what we were thankful for on our turkey’s tail feathers (pictured below).

Although the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation has passed, West Kent will observe Orange Shirt Day on Friday, October 14 so that students can learn more about this important day. Unfortunately our guest speaker is not available, so we won’t be having the assembly at that time.

Next Week in KA

Wednesday, October 12, Day 1 – Music

Thursday, October 13, Day 2 – Phys. Ed. & Ms. Ramsay

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend,

Lisa πŸ™‚
